Job Summary

The Accounting Supervisor, reporting to the Controller, is responsible for overseeing vendor payments, client invoicing, and account reconciliation, ensuring the accuracy of our financial records in QuickBooks Online. You will also play a key role in maintaining the financial health of our organization by contributing to financial reporting and analysis, leading process improvement initiatives, and assisting with strategic financial planning. We are seeking a hands-on, proactive, and technically skilled professional to join our dynamic finance team.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Comprehensive Financial Oversight: Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including the supervision of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing. This includes performing complex bank reconciliations and ensuring all general ledger entries are accurate and substantiated.
  • Strategic Financial Reporting: Coordinate and lead the month-end and year-end closing processes. You will be responsible for preparing high-level financial statements, budget-to-actual variance analyses, and cash flow forecasts that provide the leadership team with actionable insights.
  • Team Management & Mentorship: Provide direct supervision and technical guidance to the accounting team. This includes setting clear performance goals, conducting regular reviews, and fostering a culture of continuous learning to ensure the department scales effectively with the company’s growth.
  • Internal Controls & Process Optimization: Evaluate and strengthen internal accounting controls to mitigate risk and prevent fraud. You will proactively identify bottlenecks in financial workflows and implement automated solutions or refined policies to increase departmental efficiency.
  • Compliance & Audit Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and tax consultants. Ensure the organization remains in full compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, as well as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) standards.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Active CPA license 
  • Accounting Supervisor 6+ years of progressive experience in accounting, including supervisory or management roles.
  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
  • Expert-level Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, macros, data analysis).
  • Experience using HubSpot for AP/AR ticketing and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
