Responsible for leading the company’s purchasing efforts, operational and transportation efficiency related to pricing strategies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Principal Purchasing & Transportation Accountabilities
- Establish, administer, update and optimize performance of the company’s procurement capabilities and supporting programs and systems
- Establish, administer, update and optimize performance of the company’s transportation capabilities and supporting programs and systems
- Ensure that all Transportation related policies, programs and procedures are consistent with applicable Federal, state and local laws and regulations (including OSHA, IOSH, FMCSA and DOT) and with relevant standards, best practices and recommended guidelines.
- Deliver on the above in close collaboration with the company’s Operations and Commercial organizations
- Hands on working style with vendors and operations to drive down cost by identifying cost savings opportunities
- Ability to drive consistent and sustained implementation across the enterprise.
- Provide a continuous improvement approach to optimizing the effectiveness and efficiency of the company’s in-house fleet as well as partnership with third party transportation providers to augment capacity when needed.
